Jeff Ellis, PGA Professional – Lead Instructor

Born and raised in the South Hills, Jeff Ellis is a veteran Class A PGA Professional who has been coaching all levels of golf for over 26 years. Jeff was the Head Golf Professional at South Hills Country Club for 5 years before joining us here at Cool Springs. He has extensive experience in golf operations, and his first job was at the original Cool Springs.

Dan Reilly – Instructor
Formerly a competitive amateur golfer Dan has been teaching beginner and advanced golfers at Cool Springs for 27 years. Dan now works almost exclusively with junior golfers; many of his students have won Local, Regional, State, and National Competitions. He also provides junior beginner and advanced golf academy group programs at Cool Springs certain times of the year. Dan is a valuable asset to the Cool Springs Academy team. We look forward to hearing more of his junior coaching success stories for years to come! 24 hour notice required for cancellation or client will be charged for one lesson. All lesson sales final – no refunds will be given. Outstanding lessons must be used by December 31, 2023.

Christopher Geruschat - Instructor
Christopher Geruschat has been playing competitive amateur golf for over 40 years. Playing on the Edwin Watts tour for team Orlando, he captured the 2001 Amateur Players tour B–flight national championship. Christopher was a three-sport athlete at Bethany College playing baseball, basketball, and golf. He was a 2-time, 1st team all Presidents’ Athletic Conference golfer and he’s in the NCAA D3 and Bethany College record books for 3 pointers and career points.
Christopher’s passion and enthusiasm for golf ensures his instructions are always simple and fun for the student golfer

Bryan Wieclaw – Instructor
Bryan Wieclaw has over fifteen years of experience teaching in elementary education. He brings his passion of teaching to his golf lessons. He has coached the Elizabeth Forward golf team for the past 14 years. During this time, he has had multiple golfers qualify for the state individual championship, and his team finished second in the WPIAL AA finals last year. Bryan enjoys seeing the growth of his players on and off the course.

Nik Cubbison – Instructor
Nik took his first golf swing at the age of 17 and quickly became passionate about the sport. When he wasn’t working on his golf swing, he was playing club hockey and earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science at the University of Pittsburgh Bradford. He went on to use his Exercise Science background to play and coach numerous sports such as soccer, hockey, lacrosse, and now golf. Nik currently serves as one of our Junior Beginner Instructors, using his passion and prior experience to engage beginners of all ages in learning to golf.

John Henk – Instructor
John Henk is a golf professional who has focused on instruction at Cool Springs for over 25 years. He has mentored golfers at all ages and abilities, but has particularly enjoyed helping junior golfers become successful high school and collegiate competitors. Formerly a district and regional tennis tournament player and instructor, John has been involved with athletics throughout his professional career.
