At Cool Springs, our coaching program is led by PGA Professional Jeff Ellis, supported by a talented team of highly experienced instructors. Under Jeff’s leadership, our coaches provide personalized one-on-one instruction designed to help you play your best.

Please Note: All instructors are independent. Lessons and lesson packages are non-transferable and non-refundable. Unused lessons will only be exchanged for range credit after a period of one (1) year.

Lead Instructor

Jeff Ellis, PGA Pro

Born and raised in the South Hills, Jeff Ellis is a veteran Class A PGA Professional coaching all levels of golf for over 27 years. Jeff’s PGA career began at the World Class Sea Pines Resort on Hilton Head Island, also the host of a yearly PGA Tour stop. He then earned the title of Head Golf Professional at South Hills Country Club in 2008. In 2014 he set his sights to make Cool Springs a Top 50 Stand Alone Range in USA and reached that goal in 2016. Fittingly, his very first job was at the original Cool Springs!

Stone Ellis, Level 3, PGA Apprentice

Stone Ellis is a graduate of Coastal Carolina University and months away from becoming a second generation PGA of America Professional . He honed his teaching skills at renowned courses across the country, including Valley Brook Country Club, Harbour Town Golf Links, and The Glacier Club. At each of these prestigious locations, Stone has contributed to the implementation and growth of various player development programs. With five years of teaching experience and a high level of playing ability, Stone has developed an engaging and effective approach to help his students play better golf.

Dan Reilly

Formerly a competitive amateur golfer Dan has been teaching beginner and advanced golfers at Cool Springs for 29 years. Dan now works almost exclusively with junior golfers; many of his students have won local, regional, state, and national competitions.

Christopher Geruschat

Christopher Geruschat has been playing amateur and professional golf for over 40 years. He is currently an Associate in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program. He passed the PGA playing ability test on his first attempt and is an active member in the Tri-Sate Section of the PGA of America. Christopher has successfully completed the PGA HOPE adaptive golf training. (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) and the PGA Coach – American Development Model training. (ADM) He was a three-sport athlete at Bethany College, playing baseball, basketball and golf.

Christopher’s love and enthusiasm for the game of golf drives him to ensure that his instructions are always simple and fun for the student golfer.

Bryan Wieclaw

Bryan Wieclaw has over fifteen years of experience teaching in elementary education. He brings his passion of teaching to his golf lessons. He has coached the Elizabeth Forward golf team for the past 14 years. During this time, he has had multiple golfers qualify for the state individual championship, and his team finished second in the WPIAL AA finals last year. Bryan enjoys seeing the growth of his players on and off the course.

Noah Wertelet

Noah discovered his love for golf at an early age playing imaginary par 3’s in his backyard. As he grew up, his athleticism spilled over from golf into baseball, basketball, and track and field for South Park. He even helped his team earn back-to-back section titles during his two-year tenure on the varsity golf team. It is no surprise that Noah’s passion for golf led him to work at Cool Springs. Noah understands that each golfer is unique and requires tailored guidance to reach their full potential. He conducts clinics and one-on-one sessions, helping adults and juniors refine their techniques and elevate their game.

John Henk

John Henk is a golf professional who has focused on instruction at Cool Springs for over 25 years. He has mentored golfers at all ages and abilities, but has particularly enjoyed helping junior golfers become successful high school and collegiate competitors. Formerly a district and regional tennis tournament player and instructor, John has been involved with athletics throughout his professional career.

David Paladino

David Paladino has been playing golf since he was 12 years old. He quickly knew that this would be his passion. He focused solely on golf in the late years of high school and went on to play at the collegiate level at Westminster College. He’s competed in many local qualifiers, a mini-tour event and a Web.com pre-qualifier.

David is the Assistant Men’s and Women’s golf coach at PennWest California (formerly California University of Pennsylvania). He’s a long-time member of South Hills Country Club and a Caddie at Oakmont Country Club.

David enjoys teaching and wants to pass on his knowledge about the game in hopes of helping others play better golf.

How long is a golf lesson?

Lessons are typically 30 minutes long unless scheduled differently by you and the instructor.
