Cool Springs Golf Wins Top Range Renovations Award

Golf at Cool Springs is a long-standing tradition. Our commitment to providing the best technology available to our driving range has been a focus of the last few years throughout Cool Springs’ expansion and renovations. And as we close out the year, this focus has caught some national attention. Throughout renovations and construction, Cool Springs’ resident PGA Pro Jeff Ellis recorded and created numerous videos of the transformation process. Earlier this year, he submitted several videos (which you can see below) to the Golf Range Association of America.

In 2017, GRAA launched a new award for Top Range Renovations. Out of 80 facilities across the United States who entered this inaugural award, Cool Springs was selected as one of five winners for our tireless efforts to improve upon our range and overall customer experience for our dedicated golfers.

For Jeff, this honor caps off the recent years’ dedication to creating a world-class facility at Cool Spring. “I’m so grateful to Brian Shanahan and very honored to be a part of the evolution of Cool Springs,” Jeff said. Looking ahead, Jeff hopes to continue to this growth and evolution by adding even more “Cool Cutting Edge Technologies” to excite customers and “grow the game of golf.”

On top of the Range Renovations Award, Cool Springs will also be taking home a Top-50 Stand Alone Range in the United States Award for 2017. This is the second year in a row that Cool Springs Golf is being honored for its outstanding performance as a stand-alone range.

The combined efforts of Cool Springs’ owner Brian Shanahan and daily dedication of Jeff Ellis continue to make golf at Cool Springs an incredible experience for golfers in the Pittsburgh area. For Jeff, Cool Springs will always be a special place. “As a PGA Professional, our goal is to ‘grow the game of golf,’ and that is exactly what I get to do each and every day,” he explained.

As we head into 2018, Cool Springs is thrilled to look ahead at what we will be able to offer golfers. Jeff’s focus heading into January is on the Frozen Fore Golf Tournament, which will allow golfers to play a 9-hole scramble on our Toptracer Virtual simulator.

“There is no better way to practice golf,” Jeff says. Cool Springs golf is open all winter with the tools, technology, and expertise needed to keep your game sharp. From our heated bays to our Toptracer technology, it’s easy to see why GRAA chose Cool Springs…and why you should too!
